I was researching what we could do to protect Lola and Rio’s paw pads (mostly in the winter) when I came across Natural Dog Company.
I wanted to find a product that would protect their paws without having to put on dreaded booties. Those things never stay on!
Now, if you live in Miami you’re probably laughing right now.
But yes, our dog’s can’t stand to be outside for longer than a quick pee when Minnesota winter hits. They start doing the one-paw-up dance while hopping around.
Not to mention, their feet have endured some wear and tear over the past year or so and they lost those soft puppy pads.
So yeah, you can say I was pretty happy when I received a package with Paw Tector and Paw Soother from Natural Dog Company!
The Paw Tector is a wax that you rub on your dog’s paws and it creates a barrier that protects from the frigid cold (or hot!). And it works.
My only problem now is that Rio wants to lick it all off. But that’s fine because they use 100% natural and safe ingredients. I’m thinking about rubbing some on my own heels. Pretty certain it’d work.
Next time around I would consider buying the twist-up version though (which looks like a stick of deodorant) because I found it would be a little quicker to apply.
Then there’s the Paw Soother, which is an organic 100% all-natural oil and herbal-based blend. Paw Soother is meant to be used on rough, chapped, dry dog paw pads. *Ahem*, Rio.
It has ingredients such as mango butter, rosemary extract, lavender, shea butter, and other stuff that I’m (again) tempted to use on myself.
Did I mention it smells awesome?
Okay – let’s get to the good stuff. A giveaway!
I encourage you to enter your name in the “hat”, because why not? One lucky winner will be shipped their own (beautifully gift wrapped) kit filled with the Paw Tector and Paw Soother. While you’re at it, check out Natural Dog Company’s other awesome products such as their Snout Soother.
*Please note: entries will be verified by Lola. In other words, no cheating.*
*Open to U.S. Residents. Winner will be notified via email and has 48 hours to reply before a new winner will be chosen.*
My little Dove (yes she’s a dog with a bird name, but her ears totally count as wings) would love this, though like Rio will probably try and lick it off. I do as much all natural products for my husband and I, but finding good natural products for pups is tough! I’d be soooo excited to try this if I won
Yayyy we want pawtector!!!
Thanks for featuring Paw Tector. I never would have guessed something like this would work to protect from the cold. I’m in Canada so not eligible for the giveaway, but I may consider ordering some myself. I’d appreciate your thoughts if you think it will work when you get into the depths of winter. Our guy has already started doing the one-paw-up dance and we’ve only had light dustings of snow. We were mid-walk the other day a few kilometres from home and he stood on the side of the road and wouldn’t walk on until we “held hands” for a few minutes to warm up his paws with the heat from my hands.
Thanks for the tip, Sarah! Our Minnesota-born pit mix has been losing booties and doing the three-legged dance all winter!
I have a dog with degenerative myeopathy and I wonder if this would help when he gets sores on his paws. Thanks!
Definitely could use something like this in kansas. We get very cold in the winter and very hot in the summers!
My friend was just telling me about this stuff! I love all natural products for all of us so I will definitely be using it on Bella
have 2 dogs, an American Bully & a mini daschund, whom both would love some tender-loving treatment for their paws in the lovely Iowa weather! Will be checking into these products!!!
Our Bella (pit mix) hates the South Dakota winter’s!! She would love this product.
I love the idea of a spa quality product that is natural and non-harmful when they lick it off. My dainty girl, Sweet Pea, has tender feet. She is a 95 pound Staffie/American Bulldog mix. Her and her brother both suffer from dry feet. It might be because they are Texas rescues and they now are subjected to having to go outside to do their doggie business in the Portland, Oregon rain. LOL! Asparagus (or ‘Gus for short) is a local rescue and doesn’t have the tender feet like Kodiak and Sweet Pea.
I have 3 dogs; Turbo (Doberman mix), Charger (pitbull/Sheppard mix), & Bayleigh (pitbull). They all have the roughest paws and would benefit from this very much so. Indiana is about to get hit with some snow soon, so I better figure something out!
My pibble Molly is such a SoCal princess!! We have been having rain off and on the past few weeks and she HATES going outside getting her paws wet! She also can’t stand booties! I am very curious to see how she would react with a wax on her paws!! And her pads could really use some TLC pampering, as she also loves to dig in the yard
Oooops!
We love Lola and always trust your product recommendations! I have been looking at these products for a while now, and know that they’ll be a great option for winter walks thanks to your seal of approval! Thank you!
We’d definitely love to give this a try! And we’ll definitely be taking a closer look at Natural Dog Company! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely love your doggie and our blog! Pawtector sounds like a great alternative to the dreaded booties.
I love that it is natural. Thanks for the giveaway!
That stuff looks awesome!!
I’VE GOT A SWEET LITTLE BOXER PUP WHO LOVES BEING OUTSIDE, BUT IS STILL AT THE EVERYTHING IS A CHEW TOY STAGE, SO HAVING ANOTHER OPTION TO PROTECT HER FEET IS SO IMPORTANT.
My little Pitt mix Brady is experiencing his first winter and was doing the paw dance on our walk today. He does not want to wear booties, so this would be perfect! Thanks for the giveaway.
Best of luck, Rebecca!
Oooh, we would LOVE this! We are currently in training for some mountain hiking/backpacking and this is one of the things I need to put in the dogs’ packs!
This looks awesome! I JUST moved way up north, and I’ve been worrying about my pup’s paws in the extreme cold, as she’s used to the heat of Texas weather. I’d love to try some of this to keep her little pads safe!
I have not tried the paw tector or smoother yet. My husband and I were actually discussing how rough our pups’ paws are and how we wanted to find a way to help them out. I always wonder if their pad’s are so rough and dry it hurts them. This would be great to try for them!
We love paw products! They are really helpful when we take the pups out in the snow.
all natural dog products are always a big plus for me!
My baby diesel would love this. His paws have been pretty bad with all the snow and coled here in Wisconsin. He does the dance every time he goes out and since he is just a pup, he wants to go out a lot.
I have two dogs, Timber (yellow lab) and Gunner (black lab/pitbull mix). While I adopted Gunner as a puppy from a local shelter, Timber was found on the side of the road and was suffering from exposure and neglection. Poor Timber was sprayed by a skunk so we assumed that he tried to get the stink off by rubbing his face into the ground – that only made scars and caused hair loss on his snout but it’s slowly starting to come back. We also found him with cracked paws, most likely due to frostbite and exposure. His paws are very sensitive and he won’t let anyone get near them. I was looking for a product that would help heal his pads but wouldn’t harm him if he licked it off. This product looks remarkable and I hope we win the giveaway! xoxo
It gets cold and hot here in Ohio, so I would love this for my Black Lab who is sensitive to the snow and hot pavement. Also, the soother would be fantastic for the dry pads and I can never seem to get to heal completely.
